Public speaking became my mirror and my medicine.

I’ve spent ten years at the front of a classroom, first in Montreal, now in Vancouver. Today I coach entrepreneurs one on one, run Temple of Speak, and teach public speaking.

  • Founder, Temple of Speak
  • Founding president, Empowering Entrepreneurs Toastmasters
  • Spoke at VAM! Vancouver AI Meetup
  • As heard on CJSF 90.1FM
  • Featured on Radiate Health & Wealth
  • A decade in the classroom
  • From Montreal, now in Vancouver

The Mirror

I learned it the slow way.

  1. Students told me I explained things clearly. What they couldn’t see was how afraid I was of speaking.

  2. Then people began asking me to give a speech, and I faced my inner critic.

  3. I started a Toastmasters club, then built my own curriculum. Temple of Speak grew out of that.

I lived it for most of my life.

My first class

I walked into my first classroom of 34 adult students… I was terrified.

The same 34 desks and the same room, two ways of standing in front of them.

When you learn to speak with skill, you learn to stand in front of everyone.

When you learn to speak from your center, you learn to live from it too.

The Classroom

A decade in the classroom.

Now

Today I teach and facilitate at:

  1. Temple of Speak, for emotional embodiment and vocal empowerment
  2. Pattison High School, where I teach ELL full time
  3. The Squamish Nation Youth Council in North Vancouver, for public speaking
  4. APASS Education Group in Vancouver, for public speaking

Before

In Montreal I taught English Language Arts, World History, ELL and public speaking.

  • I co-developed the ELA Toolbox for RÉCIT AGE Project RISE, a Quebec adult education project (2020-21).
  • My first class was 34 adult students.
  • I coached speech and debate.

Temple of Speak

The room I built.

Temple of Speak is the 10-week, in-person program I founded in 2024. We meet once a week for three hours, and every session opens with a guided meditation.

The first six weeks give emotions a voice, with voice control and body language. The last four are your story and a vision talk.

Fall 2026 cohort in session since Sept 17

Next cohort: January 2027

  • Vahan’s Temple of Speak facilitation was flawless. There was so much thought and intention put into the flow of the workshop. … I especially loved how he weaved shadow work and child-like play into public speaking, which brings freshness to something that is scary for most people.

    Ping Vithaya

  • Vahan is an incredibly gifted public speaker who can really fill up a room with his presence and poise. … I highly recommend connecting with Vahan to learn how to get out of your own way when it comes to connecting with a group.

    Michael Gudewill

  • Vahan’s workshop was very thoughtfully organized, with a warm and welcoming atmosphere that made it easy to relax and gently ease into public speaking. … It’s a brilliant idea, and the execution was excellent.

Three talks

  1. Communicating ideas with impact

How to make an idea clear, and deliver it so it lands. It is the thread of my talk at VAM!, the Vancouver AI Meetup.

  2. From fear to voice

Overcoming speaking anxiety from the inside. I was terrified in my first classroom, so I know what the fear feels like and how to transmute it.

  3. Speaking from your centre

Voice control and body language working together, so the way you sound matches what you mean.

The Circle

Rooms where people come to be heard.

Beyond the classroom and the stage, I keep showing up in rooms where people speak honestly to each other. Some I lead, some I started, some I hosted.

  1. Men’s work · Vancouver

I lead a men’s squad in the ARKA Brotherhood: a weekly circle for honest speech and accountability.

    Read about the Brotherhood
